Sr. Beatrice Jeanette Cote, fmm
Sr. Beatrice entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary in Quebec, Canada September 14, 1934. After pronouncing her First Vows in Québec March 19, 1937, Beatrice was sent to do ministry as a commissioner, one of the many Sisters of our Institute who traveled the country selling handwork made in workrooms to support missionary works.
In April, 938, she was sent in mission to Jerusalem via Rome. She stayed in Jerusalem until December of 1938, when she was sent to Bethlehem. There, she pronounced her final vows March 19, 1940. Most of her religious life was spent in the Holy Land in ministries of service, hospitality, making of altar bread for parishes and as a gifted seamstress. Her ministries in the United States were as sacristan, sewing and sending “sunshine cards” to many ill and homebound people, ministries that she continues presently.
Sr. Helen Anna Klumpp, fmm
Sr. Helen Anna Klumpp entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary June 12, 1935 at North Providence, RI. After pronouncing her first vows, Dec. 15, 1937, her first mission sending was to St. Francis Sanatorium, Roslyn now called St. Francis Hospital. There she received tutoring on setting up and running a laboratory. These were the early challenging years of the hospital. She also worked as a practical nurse.
She pronounced her final vows, Dec. 15, 1940 at Roslyn, NY and she remained in mission there until 1959. Her various ministries have been as a sacristan, receptionist, Liturgist, Religious Educator, and life guard. Her present ministry is that of prayer for the Church and the world.
